This partnership was made official at the Emosson site, a hub for electricity generation using water – a local and renewable resource – symbolising the commitment made by Alpiq and Valais 2025 to sustainable development.
Antje Kanngiesser, CEO of Alpiq, is delighted about this collaboration: “Alpiq and mountain biking have many things in common, such as top-class performances and a great respect for nature and the mountains. These are all aspects that perfectly reflect our desire to form long-term partnerships with local and regional players, and in so doing, to foster sustainable development on an economic, environmental and social level.”
The 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship competition sites are almost exclusively located in the municipalities where Alpiq holds concessions. This partnership is therefore an opportunity to emphasise our dedication to Valais and reinforce our close collaboration with the municipalities, as well as our desire to work with the authorities in Valais for a long time to come.
