Alpiq Holding Ltd. has appointed Dr. Martin Eschle to take over as the new Head of Market Switzerland. The 45-year-old Swiss will be in charge of around 30 employees and report directly to Michael Wider, Head of Energy Switzerland and Deputy CEO of Alpiq.
Eschle has worked for the Axpo Group since 2002: for more than two and a half years as Head of Risk and Product Management and member of the Executive Board of Axpo AG, subsequently for four and a half years as Head of Risk and Portfolio Management and member of the Management Board of the Trading and Sales Division of NOK AG, and since April 2009 as Head of Business Development and member of the Management Board of the Trading and Sales Division of Axpo AG.
Eschle studied physics at the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and obtained his doctorate in physical chemistry. He also has a degree in business administration from the HEC (Faculté des Hautes Etudes Commerciales), University of Lausanne.
