Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity (Atel) has appointed a new manager of its energy business in the Swiss market: Andreas Widmer. The 41-year old graduate electrical engineer (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) will join Atel on 1 August 2001. He will take over the Swiss Region Business Unit as of 1 December 2001 from Stefan Breu, who has been elected onto the Executive Board. Andreas Widmer knows the Swiss electricity market from his previous posts with CKW, Holding Watt AG and, most recently, as Managing Director of Watt Suisse AG.
The new manager (with immediate effect) of the Atel Trading Business Unit is Dr. David Brunner. The 37-year old graduate business economist and electrical engineer (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) succeeds Richard Sandström, who left Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity (Atel) as of 30 June 2001. David Brunner has worked for Atel since 1997, most recently as head of the Portfolio Management section.
