Alpiq Vercelli
In the province of Vercelli, Alpiq joined forces with Framo Finanziaria to set up Alpiq Vercelli S.r.l. The company is 95% owned by Alpiq.
The 50 MW combined-cycle power plant provides electricity and steam to Polioli, a company controlled by Framo Finanziaria, for its own chemical production. A large quantity of the energy produced is injected into the grid and sold by Alpiq Energia Italia by means of a tolling contract. The power plant was planned by Alpiq and constructed in cooperation with Colenco. Alpiq Produzione Italia Management is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant.
