Biella thermal power station

Biella Power, combined-cycle power plant located in Cerreto Castello, Italy
The Biella Power plant is located in Cerreto Castello, approximately 10 km east of Biella, in the Piedmont region. The plant is configured as a combined-cycle power plant with two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, one steam turbine and an air-cooled condenser for an approximate net power output of 20 MW. The combined-cycle power plant went in commercial operation in September 1994, simultaneously also supplying processed steam to nearby textile factories. Since 2003 the cogeneration mode has been discontinued and the plant has been operating on a peak/mid-merit profile. Biella Power S.r.l. is currently developing a repowering project with the aim of achieving a flexible, efficient combined cycle supported by the most advanced technologies available.
