The giant gas turbine was transported in separate pieces from Genoa to Saint Pourçain. It arrived there on 9 October 2009.

Directly after its arrival the turbine was unloaded from the transport vehicle ...

... and mounted on provisional supports to permit it to be visually inspected. In the photo centre (in white), the combustion chamber that during operation can reach a temperature of up to 1300 degrees Celsius.

Some of the 24 burners can be identified at the front left of the picture.

The assembly of the turbine is difficult. The task required ten engineers from the manufacturer Ansaldo, who travelled to the site especially from Massa near Genoa.
